Dec 30 2020

Thanks to continued love and support from our clients, everyone we’ve worked with (both internal and external), and the team at Apple, 2020 has been another year of numerous opportunities and immense growth for us at Digital Workroom.

In this recap, we’ll be reflecting on what our app developers and marketing team were getting up to behind the scenes throughout 2020.

Highlights of 2020

Appearances on Apple.com

Our work on boosting Deliciously Ella’s app ratings from 3.8 to 4.9 caught the attention of Apple, which subsequently led to the app appearing on a number of Apple’s product pages, including iPhone12, iPhone12 Pro & iPhone12 Pro Max and iOS14.

In addition, Apple named our own Noted as one of the best apps to boost productivity at work thanks to its Core ML-powered intelligent playback function, which automatically detects and skips over background noise and silence in recordings, enabling you to focus on the most important parts.

You can read more about this feature on Apple at Work.

Apple Search Ads Services Launch

At the start of the year, we started offering Apple Search Ads services to our clients, helmed by our team of Search Ads specialists, to help them acquire more app users through strategic Search Ads campaigns.

St Giles Pivot Through Covid-19

The travel and tourism industry is among the worst hit by Covid-19. To help our client, St Giles Hotels evolve their marketing strategies amidst the unprecedented disruption, we worked closely with their team to pinpoint useful data that would ultimately help them successfully navigate through the pandemic.

Here’s what Abigail Tan, the CEO of St Giles Hotels thought of our approach to the project:

“Their efficient and flexibility with changing requirements throughout the project are a rare thing in this industry and very much appreciated. Post-project follow up is excellent as well and they are always available for any assistance.”

Haptik Launch on App Stores

This year we created and launched Haptik, a haptic metronome and recorder app: the first of its kind designed to help musicians maintain a steady beat during practice and performance. Haptik proved an instant hit as it was named “New Apps We Love” by Apple in the same week it was launched, and the app soon became a firm favourite among the team at Apple.

Team Expansion Despite the Pandemic

You can’t talk about 2020 without discussing the effects of Covid-19. At Digital Workroom, we saw Covid-19 not as a hurdle but an opportunity to learn and grow – and that’s what we did.

Despite being separated by lockdown restrictions, our team was able to work together and build trust within us. During these times we realised the strategic needs of the business to bring new blood into the agency.

By December, our team had almost doubled in size, welcoming a Web Developer, an iOS Developer, a Junior Developer, a Digital Content Manager, and a Digital Designer to the family. Thanks to these fresh talents, we’re able to launch our blog, deliver informative content for you, continue to innovate, and more.

… and this is only the beginning!

We’re still looking for more people to join our ever-growing team, including an Senior iOS Developer and a Digital Content Manager so get in touch if you think you have what it takes to bring more innovation into Digital Workroom.

In addition, we have more innovations (both in-house and from our clients) in the pipeline so watch this space. For future updates, sign up to our newsletter or connect with us on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
